Being There for Them

This is a portion of what it means to serve as an emergency responder chaplain. The ministry of presence means being with citizens or responders in the difficult situations. It’s caring, guiding, listening, resourcing.

While I was not on the scene for this situation, I was promptly contacted by someone who personally knew the victim. (This reflects life in a smaller community.) I was there for him.

Next, the officers who are engaged in the investigation appreciate a chaplain ‘being there’ for them. Serving in a full-time capacity allows me to ‘be there’ in many of the trying scenes and aftermath.

I appreciate those who financially support Braveheart so that I can ‘be there’. Our HERO Gala is quickly approaching on November 8. Get your tickets now at braveheartministry.com and enjoy a fantastic evening!
