Links of Commitment

When a Braveheart chaplain engages with a citizen in distress or stands alongside emergency responders, there is a chain of people who help make all of that possible. Braveheart chaplains do not stand alone in serving. We are one link in a chain of dedicated individuals who are committed to caring for our community and beyond.

Aside from me and Chaplain Chris Messenger, these links consist of… donors such as the Bigfork Ladies Service Club (and many families, businesses, churches, service clubs, and private grants) who provide the financial resources necessary to fulfill our mission, volunteer chaplains, board members, volunteers who raise funds, serve in administrative roles, pray, organize events, maintain social media and our website, conduct follow up with citizens after a traumatic event, or who give of themselves through other avenues.

Another link is emergency responder agency leaders who provide the opportunity for Braveheart chaplains to serve within their agencies. These leaders give their approval to chaplains being able to interact with personnel and their families so that these heroes have the extra measure of support, both on a daily basis and during a more severe season.

The bedrock link in our chaplain’s chain of support is our families. No chaplain could consistently answer dispatch’s 2:00 a.m. calls or the call-outs on a holiday without the ongoing backing of our families! The faithful encouragement of our spouses and families is imperative in order to answer the phone, regardless of the day or time!

What Braveheart accomplishes is absolutely a team effort whereby every link is essential and without which nothing in comparison could be accomplished.

Many thanks from Chris and me to all of the links in the Braveheart chain!
